A devastating incident unfolded at a five-star hotel near Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) when a 40-year-old man allegedly murdered his two young daughters before attempting to take his own life. The younger daughter was 5 years old, while the elder one was 10. They were found dead inside a fourth-floor hotel room.
The incident came to light on Monday evening, leaving the local community in shock.
The accused, identified as S. G. Imran, a resident of Bilalnagar in north Bengaluru and a manager at a private cab company, had checked into the luxury hotel on Sunday evening at around 7:30 p.m. Imran informed hotel staff that he was anticipating a guest arriving from Dubai, successfully avoiding any suspicion.
The horrific sequence of events remained concealed until the following afternoon. When Imran failed to check out, housekeeping staff attempted to reach him, knocking on his door at 12:30 pm and again at 4:30 pm. Receiving no response, the hotel management grew concerned. At 5:30 pm, the manager used a duplicate key to enter.
Inside the room, they made a gruesome discovery. Imran’s daughters were found dead near the bed. Police suspect the children were strangled. Imran was discovered lying unconscious near the sofa with a severe, self-inflicted slash to his throat. Security immediately alerted the police.
All three were rushed to a nearby private hospital. Tragically, medical professionals declared both young girls dead on arrival. Imran survived the suicide attempt and currently remains under close medical supervision while recovering from his injuries.
Investigators recovered a suicide note from the hotel room, purportedly written by Imran, which pointed to severe domestic turmoil. The note accused his wife of infidelity, stating, "I am fed up with life due to the extra-marital affair of my wife. I have evidence to prove her affair. She has hurt me. I am taking my daughters with me."
Mithun Kumar G.K., Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East Division), confirmed the details, noting that a comprehensive investigation is underway. Authorities are examining the recovered note, the hotel premises, and other forensic evidence to completely understand the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking family tragedy.
