Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, who has dominated headlines over the past few weeks, has suddenly gone viral again—this time for another reason.
Dipke was recently seen having a heated argument with a police Sub-Inspector (SI), alleging that the officer had stopped several guests from visiting his house.
“Who are you to decide?” he could be heard saying in one viral video from the incident, and declaring that he would decide who would meet him and who would not.
He added that he would not like people speaking to his guests in the manner that the policeman had allegedly done either.
“What kind of way of speaking has this become? People come to meet me and you treat them like this?”
The confrontation allegedly took place outside the CJP founder's home in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where he returned after the anti-NEET paper leak protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar ended on July 25 after the resignation ofUnion Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
This had also led to a back-and-forth with the Centre on the detentions of protesters.
Though THE WEEK could not verify the exact context behind the confrontation, netizens were quick to attack Dipke online, as the alleged incident also comes days after Maharashtra minister Sanjay Shirsat met Dipke's parents, and promised them that their son would get official security cover.
”When he arrives in Maharashtra, I will personally make a special request to CM Devendra Fadnavis to provide him with official security so that no threat is posed to his life,” the Shiv Sena leader had said at the time, after meeting them at their Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar home.
"One success has driven these CJP people crazy. These days, they keep picking fights with everyone and acting arrogant wherever they go," one user alleged, claiming that Dipke was phoning an IPS officer to get the SI moved.
He also alleged that Dipke was contradicting himself.
"For the last two days, Dipke himself has been saying that no one should be allowed to enter without his permission. And when the police officer does exactly that, Dipke calls him rude and demands that he be removed from there," the user alleged.
"Tyranny of an unelected self appointed public representative," wrote another X user, lashing out at him.
