Student organisations in Jharkhand are organising a protest march to the state assembly on August 7 to demand that the JPSC and JSSC exams be made corruption-free.
Jharkhand Janadhikar Mahasabha, AISA, AISF and other public and student organisations paid tribute to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and said that the students are following their path of struggle.
The organisations appealed to the students to join the ‘Vidhan Sabha March’.
The protesters had earlier announced their plans to step up the movement and proposed a Tiranga march and a statewide gherao of the Jharkhand Assembly on August 10. Student leader Jivan Kumar said that a meeting would be held to finalise the decision.
Meanwhile, the state government has taken an initiative to negotiate with the protesting students at the Jaipal Singh Stadium in Ranchi, Jagran reported. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDO) and the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Law and Order (LA&O) arrived at the Jaipal Singh Stadium with the state government's proposal.
Earlier, Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that the concerns of the young students were a serious matter. He said that it has become a national problem facing young people in many states across the country.
A delegation led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also visited the protest site in Ranchi and met with the students on hunger strike.
Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has also extended his support to the protesters. He announced that he will go to Jharkhand to support the students protesting over the irregularities in the state public service examination and other recruitment tests.
The protests by the students are currently on day 12. A large number of students are staging an indefinite sit-in at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi since July 29.
