Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday put forth three demands regarding E20 petrol and announced the party's plan to march to Prime Minister's residence on August 4.
The announcement was made during a town hall style meeting on E20 fuel at the Constitution Club of India on New Delhi on Saturday.
What are Arvind Kejriwal's 3 demands on E20?
The first demand raised by Kejriwal was that the consumers should have the option to choose between E20 and pure petrol at fuel stations.
The AAP national convener's second demand was that E20 should be cheaper than pure petrol.
The final demand was to keep the petrol price under ₹84 per litre.
"Today, millions of people joined the 'National Townhall Against E20' and extended their support to this issue, making it clear to the government how troubled they are by E20," Kejriwal posted on X.
He also requested social media followers to create videos on the issue and send him collab request, assuring the users that he would share everyone's videos from his account.
Kejriwal also urged the government to make public the report cited by the government to claim that E20 does not damage vehicles. "The Centre says studies have been conducted and E20 does not harm vehicles. I want them to share that report," he said.
Earlier, AAP had launched an online petition, seeking to make E20 fuel optional. It reportedly received more than two lakh signatures.
In July, the former Delhi CM had reached out to PM Modi for an appointment to discuss concerns over E20 petrol and lower prices for ethanol-blended version.
