"We all made this happen together. What did these people use to say? That 'resignations do not happen under this government.' What did they say? 'Resignations do not happen under this government.'"
These were among the first statements of Cockroach Janata Party chief Abhijit Dipke after the news of Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation broke.
"I thank CJI Kant for calling us cockroaches. Had you not called us cockroaches, Pradhan would not have resigned," he said.
"We have two more demands; we will not go just like that. We are cockroaches — once we enter, we do not leave," Dipke reportedly added.
Following Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, celebrations erupted at the protest sites at Jantar Mantar. While interacting with fellow student protestors, Abhijit Dipke reportedly demanded, "Financial assistance of ₹1 crore must be provided to the families of the students who died by suicide. Action must be taken against the police officers who engaged in hooliganism and ordered the lathi-charge (baton-charge). DCP Sandeep Lamba, ACP Ajay Sharma, and Sachin Sharma ordered the lathi-charge on the youth at the behest of Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Action must be taken against them as well."

Abhijit Dipke further stated that all cases registered and actions taken against students after July 20 must be withdrawn.
