Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has decided to take a break from his protest at Jantar Mantar after falling ill, he said in a statement on X. Dipke has been stationed at Jantar Mantar since June 20 seeking the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issues.
In his post, Dipke said: “I’ve been down with a fever and severe body pain for the last few days, but I’ve been pushing through with painkillers. My apologies if you don’t see me at Jantar Mantar today. I need to get a few hours of rest and recover. Will be back at the protest site by evening.”
Earlier in the day, Dipke had alleged that the BJP was deliberately sending troublemakers to the protest venue to create issues.
“We've been sitting here for a month. No such incident has occurred in a month. But now, as the protests have escalated, the BJP is deliberately provoking people by sending in goons from outside. The police bring in truckloads of stones. BJP goons come, throw stones, and then defame the CJP members,” he alleged.
The CJP has also reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement on action against paper leaks, while reiterating its demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke shared an image of Pradhan carrying the caption, "Hi, my name is nothing", while the CJP posted, "Dharmendra Pradhan Must Resign."
CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the party welcomed the prime minister's response but said it came after nearly one-and-a-half months of protests and did not answer the central question behind repeated paper leaks. "The first thing is that it is good that after one-and-a-half months of protests, the prime minister has finally taken notice. Perhaps his foreign visits are over, and he has returned to India, which is a good thing," Ranka said.
