Why did a 42-year-old man murder his 18-year-old girlfriend?

In Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, a young girl has been allegedly murdered by her 42-year-old boyfriend. The deceased, identified as Pushpa Devi, was reportedly in a live-in relationship with Gangasadar, the main accused in the case. It is alleged that Gangasadar, along with his friends and son, killed the young woman and attempted to frame it as an accident or suicide.

According to the police, Gangasadar, a resident of Aurei village, had lost his wife and lived with his son. He met Devi during this time period, and the pair became close. Devi’s family claims that Gangasadar pursued her and later convinced their daughter to leave with him.

The body of a young woman was reportedly recovered from near the railway tracks on June 29. However, the body was not identified or claimed and was cremated. Murder was not suspected at that point.

The family reported that the couple had been in a relationship for about a year and were living together in an apartment in the Radhanagar police station area. When they lost contact with Devi, the family became worried. This led her father, Madhavir Lodhi, to lodge a complaint at the police station. He expressed his fear that Gangasadar might have killed his daughter and hidden her body.

When rumours spread about the murder, Lodhi became suspicious that the body found on the tracks was his daughter’s.

After conducting a thorough investigation, three people, including Gangasadhar, have been arrested. SP Abhimanyu Manglik mentioned that the main accused confessed to the murder during the interrogation. He admitted that he stored the girl’s body in his house for days before using a tractor to transfer her body to the railway tracks. The intention was to make it look like an accident. The motive behind the murder remains unclear.

The police have recovered the vehicle used to transport the body and are searching for an absconding suspect.
