The daughter-in-law of Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) leader and former MP Vinayak Raut has made several serious allegations against him and other members of his family, local media reports said. Girija Raut, the wife of the former MP's son Gitesh Raut, has lodged a complaint at the Kapurbawdi Police Station in Thane against seven people, including her husband and father-in-law.
An FIR has been registered under provisions related to domestic cruelty and the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act after Girija made several horrifying accusations against the father-son duo. Girija alleged that she was physically and mentally harassed by Gitesh. There were attempts to use black magic on her, she reportedly alleged.
Her hair was cut without her permission and she was forced to drink cow urine, Girija was quoted as saying by TV9 Marathi. Gitesh Raut is a Mumbai Municipal Corporation corporator representing Ward 89.
As per the complaint, Gitesh assaulted her and denied her food over marital spats. According to the complainant, her husband resorted to abuse and assault during a foreign trip to Australia in 2018. Her crime was trying to become close with her husband, TV9 Marathi said in a report.
When the lack of physical intimacy became a regular reason for quarrels between the couple, Gitesh reportedly declared, "If you touch me, you will become a widow."
According to the complaint, such disagreements always ended in her husband denying her food. Gitesh allegedly told his wife: "I can have sex abroad, not here. I don't get the kind of environment I want here."
