In a new development, Pune police have detained a man who works at a company in Balewadi in relation to the ongoing Ketan Agarwal murder case. Sources told local media that the man is acquainted with either Siya Goyal or Chetan Chaudhary, who are the main accused in the case.
The accused persons reportedly shared their plans to murder Ketan with the man, and he was reportedly asked to accompany them to Lohagarh fort on the day Ketan fell to his death. His identity has not been revealed. The man hails from Beed district.
Sources also said that the man had advised the couple against carrying out the murder plan. Police are trying to determine how much the person knew of the couple’s alleged plan.
Meanwhile, police sources also claimed that the accused persons watched several episodes of the TV series Crime Patrol to understand how to cover up a murder.
On Thursday, Pune police recovered the clothes Siya wore while visiting the fort. They have been sent for forensic analysis. Goyal allegedly showed a middle finger to the media while Pune Rural police took her to her residence to recover the clothes.
Police also took Siya to the Lullnagar area of Pune, where they reportedly rehearsed their plot to kill Agarwal.
Goyal and Chaudhary are accused of pushing 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal to his death from a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune on June 18.
Goyal was engaged to Ketan, and their marriage was set to take place in November.
Police believe that Goyal and Chaudhary allegedly eliminated Ahgarwal to remove an obstacle to their relationship.
