A 24-year old woman alleged that she was sexually harassed by a man inside a moving car in East Delhi’s Mandawali area. The incident was recorded by the victim on her mobile phone.
According to the woman’s complaint, the accused was known to the victim and had invited her out to eat momos. He later said that he needed to refill the fuel and diverted the vehicle. Instead of heading towards a fuel station, he went to a deserted stretch.
After that, the man began making obscene remarks and demanded sexual favours from the woman.
He also touched her inappropriately and prevented her from leaving the vehicle.
The Mandawali police had registered an FIR against the accused.
In the disturbing, shaky video, the woman can be heard pleading with the man to let her go while he continues making unwanted sexual remarks, NDTV reported.
In frustration, the woman at one point says, "If you even touch me, I'll jump in front of a vehicle and end my life.”
The woman also says multiple times, "I won't let you touch my body." The man, however, continues to harass the woman by saying, "It will take only two minutes."
The video was submitted as part of the evidence.
Police registered the FIR on June 17 under relevant provisions of the BNS pertaining to sexual harassment, wrongful restraint and other offences.
The accused has been identified and apprehended.
