Ketan Agarwal murder: Police probe Siya Goyal's Udaipur trip with lover before engagement
The investigation has also revealed that Siya allegedly obtained Rs 1 crore from Ketan and transferred the amount to Chetan
An ongoing investigation into the death of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, who allegedly fell into a gorge at Lohagad Fort, has revealed that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhury, are accused of his murder and had traveled to Udaipur shortly before Goyal's engagement to Agarwal, potentially as part of a conspiracy. Investigators are examining travel records and digital evidence from this trip, alongside allegations that Goyal took Rs 1 crore from Agarwal for wedding shopping and transferred it to Chaudhury to fund his business, with the couple allegedly planning for Chaudhury to propose to Goyal's family once financially stable. Police believe the pair conspired to push Agarwal to his death from a cliff edge at Lohagad Fort, a location they had scouted and practiced the murder at beforehand, according to witness statements. Both Goyal and Chaudhury are due in court, with police expected to seek an extension of their remand, and Goyal's family members have also been questioned.

The ongoing investigation into the death of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal has uncovered new details suggesting that his fiancee, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhury—both accused in the case—had made a trip to Udaipur in Rajasthan.
According to police, the duo travelled to the tourist city, shortly before Siya's engagement to Ketan in February. Investigators believe the trip could provide crucial clues about the alleged conspiracy. They are examining the couple's travel records, the duration of their stay, and digital evidence linked to the visit.
The investigation has also revealed that Siya allegedly obtained Rs 1 crore from Ketan, claiming she needed the money for wedding shopping, according to a News18 report. Police allege that she subsequently transferred the amount to Chetan, who intended to use the funds to establish his business.
Investigators believe the pair had planned that once Chetan became financially stable over the next two to three years, he would approach Siya’s family with a marriage proposal.
Ketan died on June 18 after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort in Pune district. Although the incident was initially treated as an accident, the investigation later led police to conclude that he had allegedly been pushed to his death by Siya and Chetan.
According to police, Chetan arrived at the fort independently and followed Ketan and Siya to an isolated cliff edge, where the two allegedly pushed Ketan into a 400-foot gorge.
During questioning, Siya allegedly told investigators that she did not want to marry Ketan and had conspired with Chetan to kill him, believing that calling off the wedding would bring disgrace to her family.
On Sunday, police took Siya to Lohagad Fort to reconstruct the crime scene. Using a dummy, investigators recreated the sequence of events leading to Ketan's death.
According to a police official, the accused admitted they had visited the fort before the incident to identify a suitable location for the murder and had even conducted a "practice" session there.
Meanwhile, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhury are scheduled to be produced before a court on Monday as their police custody comes to an end. The investigating team is expected to seek an extension of their remand to continue the probe.
On Sunday, police questioned Siya's father, mother and brother at length and recorded their statements.
