'Siya Goyal and lover googled ways to kill Ketan Agarwal, rehearsed crime at Lohagad Fort'
The two accused had also allegedly prepared and practised their responses to police questioning in case they were caught
An investigation into the death of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal, who fell into a gorge at Lohagad Fort, has reportedly uncovered a murder plot involving his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary. Police claim that Siya and Chetan researched murder methods online and even rehearsed the crime at the fort before the incident on June 18, which was initially deemed an accident but is now believed to be a homicide. During a crime scene reconstruction, investigators sought to verify the accused's accounts of how Agarwal was pushed, with Siya allegedly confessing to the conspiracy due to her unwillingness to marry Agarwal and a desire to avoid family shame. Authorities are also investigating the digital footprints of the accused, including deleted chat records, as they attempt to piece together the planning and motive behind the alleged murder.

The investigation into the death of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal has reportedly revealed that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary—both accused in the case—had searched online for ways to commit the murder.
Ketan died after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18. While the incident was initially reported as an accident, the subsequent investigation allegedly revealed that he was pushed to his death by Siya with Chetan's help.
According to an NDTV report, police have found that Siya and Chetan had visited Lohagad Fort alone before the incident to "rehearse" the murder. The two accused had also allegedly prepared and practised their responses to police questioning in case they were caught.
On Sunday, police took Siya to Lohagad Fort to reconstruct the crime scene. Officials said the exercise was aimed at recreating the exact sequence of events leading to the June 18 incident.
During the reconstruction, investigators sought to verify the accused's claims regarding how and from where Ketan was allegedly pushed into the gorge. Police said Chetan, the co-accused, would also be taken to the crime scene separately.
Siya has allegedly told police that she did not want to marry Ketan and had therefore conspired with Chetan to kill him, believing that calling off the wedding would bring disrepute to her family.
Investigators are examining several aspects of the case, including the alleged planning of the murder, the movements of the accused before and after the incident, their digital footprint, and the motive behind the crime.
Police also claimed that both Siya and Chetan deleted chat records from their mobile phones before June 18 and again after the incident in an alleged attempt to destroy evidence. The devices have been sent for forensic examination to recover the deleted conversations.
