More details regarding the gruesome killing of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal emerge as  police continue the interrogation of his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her lover Chetan Chaudhary, who allegedly carried out the murder.

According to local media reports quoting police officials, Siya and Chetan met at a cafe to discuss the way to eliminate Ketan. The duo even identified a suitable  spot on the fort from where he could be pushed.

Siya also admitted to the police that she and Chetan decided on a “signal” to indicate the timing to shove Ketan into the gorge. The plan was that Siya would bend down in front of Ketan to give the signal to Chetan, who would then push him into the valley.

According to police sources, during interrogation, Siya Goyal admitted that she and Chetan Chaudhary had already decided on a 'signal' for when to push Ketan. According to this plan, Siya was to bend down in front of Ketan to give the signal, which would enable Chetan to push Ketan into the valley. This plan was executed on June 18 at Lohagad Fort, though there is no confirmation as to who shoved him. Siya claims that she gave the signal, and Chetan pushed Ketan into the valley.

However, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill told reporters that the investigation has revealed that Siya was the mastermind behind the entire murder plot. She was the one who instigated Chetan to kill Ketan and hatched the entire plot to take him to Lohagad. An earlier probe had revealed that Siya and Chetan remained in constant touch for nearly six months, exchanging a staggering 2,004 calls and spending 238 hours on the phone.

‘Siya was pressured to marry Ketan’

Police say that Ketan's fiancée, Siya Goyal, was hesitant about marriage and didn't want  to marry Ketan, but was pressured by her family to do so. Police sources say that  interrogation of the accused and analysis of digital and circumstantial evidence indicated  that Siya wanted more time for herself and was not mentally prepared for marriage, despite her family's expectations.

Ketan's and Siya's families had known each other for 35 years, and their marriage was arranged by her aunt. Both families are prominent in Pune.

Now, Ketan’s family allege that Siya’s family knew about her affair with Chetan and hence were in a rush to hasten the marriage. Siya’s family did not approve of Chetan and Siya's  relationship because his father owned a small grocery store, while Siya's family was involved in the spice business and were millionaires.
