A lavish wedding in Udaipur. A palace in Jaipur booked for ₹17 crore. Two private planes to fly guests. Young Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, 26, dreamt of having a dream wedding with Siya Goyal, 20. But little did he know that his fiancee was plotting to kill him with the help of her lover, Chetan Chaudhary.
There were several red flags that Ketan missed before Siya and Chetan pushed him to death from Lohagad Fort into a 400 metre deep gorge. The first instance was when she stole Ketan's passport ahead of their trip to Bali for a pre-wedding photoshoot. Siya reportedly disposed of the passport at a hotel they stayed in before travelling to the airport.
Eventually, they returned to Pune, following which Siya convinced Ketan to explore the Lohagad Fort to make up for their cancelled Bali trip. She first tried to bring Ketan to the fort on May 31. Two weeks later, she tried again on June 14, when she pushed him near the edge of the fort, but he escaped after tree stopped him from falling. Siya later said there was a snake at the spot and that she was trying to save him from getting bitten.
After the failed attempt, Siya lured Ketan back to the fort. Chetan was also at the spot. The duo pushed Ketan into the gorge, killing him. She informed the police that he accidentally fell while taking photos.
However, suspicions by Ketan's family made Lonawala Rural Police to investigate the murder angle. They told police that he did not wanted to come back to Lohagad after visiting on June 14, but that Siya kept pushing him to accompany her so that she could celebrate her birthday with her friends. She even called up Ketan's mother to convince Ketan to join her.
After Ketan's death, Siya took to Instagram to post, "I Loved You So Much, Yet You...!", which has gone viral after the murder plot was uncovered.
