In what appears to be a technical error in the admit card issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the NEET-UG re-examination, a candidate from Nagpur in Maharashtra was allegedly allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi.
The student, Abdullah Mohammad Talib, noticed the discrepancy after downloading his Re-NEET 2026 admit card from the NTA’s official website, NDTV reported.
Following the circulation of the admit card screenshot on social media, the NTA acknowledged the error, terming it a technical glitch, and said the candidate would be assigned a new examination centre.
Talib had applied for an exam centre in Nagpur. Reports noted that even if he were willing to travel to the United Arab Emirates, he does not possess a passport, further complicating the situation.
The agency has reportedly written to the candidate, assuring him that a revised admit card will be issued shortly.
Meanwhile, the NTA will conduct a nationwide mock drill on Saturday as part of preparations to ensure the smooth, secure, and transparent conduct of the examination.
The agency has said it is fully prepared for the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, with district administrations, police forces, and escort teams tasked with securely transporting confidential materials.
The re-test will be conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm in pen-and-paper mode across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad for over 22.79 lakh candidates.
Earlier, the NTA cancelled the NEET examination held on May 3 following allegations of a paper leak.
