The central government has implemented an unprecedentedly strict security plan for the upcoming NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 on June 21, involving the CRPF and CISF to secure question papers and OMR sheets, which will be transported via a hub-and-spoke system using air and road from Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to approximately 551 hub cities. This extensive security operation includes continuous cordons during packing, transportation, and distribution, with paramilitary forces stationed at hubs, airports, and critical locations, and accompanying consignments on special Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters, with provisions for secure weapons handling for personnel. Special helipads are established for difficult-to-access areas, and a secure retrieval process for answer sheets is in place, with the entire arrangement being closely monitored by top government officials, including discussions held with the Union Home Minister, Defence Minister, and Health Minister, and oversight from the Finance Ministry to ensure a smooth examination.

The central government has made an unprecedented and strictest-ever security plan for the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026, scheduled to be held on June 21. While the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have been assigned key responsibilities, the question paper and the OMR sheet will be moved in hub-and-spoke mode, from origin hubs in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to around 551 hub cities across the country via air and road, according to reports.

The CRPF and CISF personnel will maintain a constant security cordon during the packing, transportation, and distribution of the material. The paramilitary force will provide a layer of security at hubs, airports, helipads and critical locations. They will also accompany the consignments on aircraft and helicopters.

Special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft are being used to safely transport NEET question papers to various corners of the country. In remote or sensitive areas where air access is difficult, special helipads have been secured to ensure that the papers reach the examination centres on time and without any tampering.

Besides, the CAPF personnel will have to follow a special protocol for the purpose. Personnel traveling on military aircraft or helicopters will be required to deposit their official weapons before the flight. The weapons will be kept in a secure location during the journey and returned to the personnel upon arrival at their destination.

Not just delivering, there is a process in place for safely retrieving answer sheets and other documents after the exam. It will begin the same evening after the exam, and special security arrangements have been made for this purpose.

Earlier, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the security and logistical arrangements are being monitored at the highest levels of government. “I have discussed the matter with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while a meeting with Health Minister J P Nadda was also scheduled. The finance ministry is also monitoring the situation to ensure smooth conduct of the examination,” he had said.
