After multiple delays caused by technical issues and cybersecurity concerns, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday activated the portal for Class 12 students to apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation.

In a post on X, the board announced that the portal was operational and urged students to carefully follow the application process.

"Dearest Students, The verification and re-evaluation portal is now LIVE! Please watch the video carefully for step-by-step instructions on how to apply for Verification of Marks and re-evaluation," CBSE Headquarters said.

The portal was originally scheduled to go live on June 1 but was delayed due to technical difficulties. The postponement triggered concern among students and parents, especially following reports of glitches and discrepancies in the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Several students had reported receiving scanned answer sheets that did not belong to them after accessing documents through the OnMark portal. CBSE later contacted the affected students and provided their correct answer sheets.

The board said it had taken up on a "top priority" basis all complaints related to alleged answer-sheet mismatches and other issues raised during the re-evaluation process.

On Sunday, CBSE said vulnerabilities identified in the OnMark portal, operated by its service provider, had been contained and that efforts were underway to detect and eliminate any remaining security risks.

The board also announced that a team of cybersecurity experts from various government agencies and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) had been deployed to strengthen the platform's security infrastructure and ensure the integrity of the evaluation process.
