Ever since Dhurandhar portrayed underworld don Dawood Ibrahim as an ailing terror leader on his death bead, his D-Company is on a damage control mode and making desperate efforts to prove that their boss is still alive and well. Now, a report quoting sources claimed that the dreaded gang has plotted a terror attack in Mumbai to revive their decling clout in the underworld.
Sources alleged that the plan was to carry out a major attack or to target a powerful figure in India, reports NDTV. This comes as the two-part Dhurandhar franchise killed Dawood's PR machine. The two Ranveer starrer movies have been banned in Pakistan and the Gulf nations over depiction of certain terror attacks targeting India by Pakistan-based groups. However, despite the ban, the two spy thrillers are among the most downloaded films on torrents in Pakistan.
Sources reportedly claimed that Chhota Shakeel's gang was tasked with recruiting radicalised youth for a potential terror plot. But the recruited operatives were not aware of the actual goal of the operation and were allegedly instigated over a bulldozer demolition of an illegal mosque in Bandra Garib Nagar in Mumbai, according to sources.
The ISI was responsible for training them and supplying arms while Munna Jhingada alias Syed Mudassar Hussain, the right-hand man of Dawood Ibrahim, was a key handler tasked with executing the plan.
Jhingada, who hails from Mumbai's Jogeshwari, also worked for Shakeel for a long time and was infamous for his shooting skills.
Jhingada was among the key handler of the terror module recently busted by the Delhi Police Special Cell. Nine terrorist were arrested for plotting attacks in Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of the country.
