Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will be meeting DMK chief MK Stalin today.

The meeting, which will take place at 2:30 pm, is to take place after the Assembly session.

Sources say that the meeting is a courtesy call.

Following the meeting, Vijay is also set to meet MDMK general secretary Vaiko at his residence in Annanager at 3;30 pm.

He will also meet Thirumalavan, the leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, who helped him form the government

Vijay took the oath as chief minister at the Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. The party achieved a majority after the Congress, the Communist Party of Tamil Nadu and the Indian Union Muslim League supported the TVK.

After the oath ceremony, Vijay singed filed related to women’s safety, drug prevention and 200 units of free electricity.

On Sunday, Stalin congratulated Vijay on his chief ministership. He also advised Vijay against claiming the government treasury was empty and said that the state’s debt is well within permissible limits. He asked not to start saying the government has no money and said that what is needed is the will to give to the people and the ability to govern.

"Do not begin your tenure by claiming there is no money in the government treasury. Funds are available. What matters is the capability and determination to govern effectively," he said in a post on X.

The former chief minister also questioned Vijay over his election promises, pointing out that the TVK leader had multiple welfare commitments despite being aware of the state’s fiscal status.
