The West Bengal police have now arrested three people in connection with the murder of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s PA’s murder.

The Bengal Police Special Task Force has arrested three persons in relation to the case. One of the arrested persons was reportedly a history sheeter.

According to police sources, the arrests were made in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. They have now been taken to Kolkata.

The police raided different areas in Buxar in Bihar on Sunday night, which led to the arrests of Mayank Raj Mishra and Vicky Maurya.

Meanwhile, a shooter, Raj Singh, has reportedly been taken into custody in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. he was hiding in Ayodhya after the shooting.

The district police have refrained from commenting on the matter,

The arrests were made after the police investigation found that the shooters used UPI to pay the Bali Plaza toll plaza in Howrah.

The digital transaction enabled the police to track the bank account of the accused.

The investigation then led them to UP and Jharkhand.

The CCTV footage from the toll plaza also showed the Nissan Micra car that the three suspects used for the shooting in Madhyamgram. The car was later recovered from the Doharia area. Two motorcycles used in the murder have also been seized.

Chandranath Rath was shot dead inside a car when he was travelling with two others near Madhyamgram on Wednesday. His SUV was intercepted by the Nissan Micra about 200 meters from his home. The bike-borne assailant opened fire using an Austrian-made Glock 47X pistol at close range, killing Rath, who was seated at the front.
