Political tensions in Tamil Nadu escalated further on Friday as Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) released visuals purportedly showing Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) MLA-elect S. Kamaraj preparing a letter endorsing the Vijay-led party's government formation bid.
The development comes in the wake of AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran rejecting support to TVK and publicly accusing the party of “forgery” and attempted horse-trading.
“These visuals show AMMK MLA Kamaraj voluntarily and happily writing a letter expressing his support for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam,” TVK said in a post. The party added that Kamaraj had acted with the approval of AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran.

TVK accused Dhinakaran of spreading misinformation and false news, emphasising that the party had no need to bargain or negotiate with anyone.
“The reports claiming that the MLA did not write the letter are entirely false and contrary to the facts. TTV Dhinakaran is deliberately concealing the truth and spreading misinformation. The public should understand that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has no need to bargain or negotiate with anyone,” the party said.
Earlier, Dhinakaran, speaking after meeting Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Friday night, asserted his support for AIADMK chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami to form the government. He also called for an investigation into the letter allegedly showing AMMK’s support to Vijay.
“I am supporting AIADMK. I have submitted a letter in support of Edappadi Palaniswami to form the government. Our MLA S. Kamaraj has also signed it and sent it through my secretary,” Dhinakaran told reporters, reiterating his party’s stance.
