Results for some key constituencies in Assam are yet to be declared as counting progresses across the state.
In Mariani, BJP’s Rupjyoti Kurmi is leading with 67,326 votes after 13 rounds of vote counting. Trailing close behind is Rajidor’s Dal’s, Gyanashree Bora.
In Bihpuria, BJP’s Bhupen Kumar Borah is leading with 63,146 votes. The INC’s Narayan Bhuyan is trailing behind with a margin of 5050 votes.
Rameswar Teli from the BJP party, meanwhile, is leading in the the Duliajan constituency.
BJP candidates have now won in 17 constituencies and is leading in 65.
In Sibsagar, meanwhile, Akhil Gogoi from the Raijor Dal party, a Congress ally, is leading with 52473 votes. BJP's Kushal Dowari is trailing behind with a vote margin of 8273.
The AJTP’s Lurinjyoti Gogoi is trailing behind BJP’s Chakradhar Gogoi in Khowang constituency.
In Barpeta, Dipak Kumar Das from the Asom Gana Parishad, a key ally of the NDA, is leading.
AGP candidates are currently leading in Bilaspara, Bogaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Dimoria, Kaliabor, Tezpur, Teok, and Bokakhat.
Meanwhile, Bodoland People's Front candidates are also leading by wide margins in Gossaugaon, Dotma, Kokrajhar, Baokhungri, Sidli Chirang, Manas, Baksa, Bhergaon and Udalguri.
The NDA alliance is set to secure a comfortable majority in the Assam elections. Celebrations have already begun across the state as the party stays in power for a third time.The win also means that Himanta Biswa Sarma stays Chief Minister for a second term.
