A young Delhi Judicial Services official on Saturday allegedly died by suicide in the Safdarjung area, the police said.

Initial reports say that the 35-year-old, identified as Aman Kumar Sharma, allegedly died by hanging in the bathroom of his house, as per a PTI report.

Officers from the Safdarjung Enclave Police Station explained that they had rushed to Sharma's house after receiving a PCR call on Saturday afternoon.

"No foul play has been established so far. However, all angles are being examined as part of inquest proceedings," a senior police officer said, adding that the body has been sent for postmortem, and that further investigation is underway.

Since October 18, 2025, Sharma had been serving as the Full-Time Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at the Karkardooma Court in northeast Delhi.

According to official records, the deceased judge had joined the Delhi Judicial Services on June 19, 2021, after graduating with a BA LLB from the Symbiosis Law School, Pune in 2018.

During his tenure, he dealt with a range of criminal and civil cases and served in different jurisdictions as a judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) and civil judge, the report added.

However, a relative later claimed that Aman had been distressed over a dispute with his wife, in addition to alleged pressure from his wife's sister, which may have led him to take the drastic step.

The police are now examining the circumstances that led to the alleged suicide.
