Monalisa Bhosle, who gained fame during the 2025 Mahakumbhmela, on Wednesday filed a complaint at Thampanoor police station in Thiruvananthapuram over forced marriage.
In the morning, she arrived at the police station with her boyfriend, identified as Farman Khan. In her complaint, the Indore native claimed that her father, Vijay Singh Bhosle was forcing her to marry another person.
Monalisa's father reportedly came to Kerala to bring her back home, but she refused to go to the airport with him.
Police said they have not registered a case yet and clarified that no physical abuse was involved, reports Manorama Online.
Monalisa is now 18 and police informed her father that she has the legal right to choose her life partner.
Monalisa is currently in Poovar, Kerala, for the shooting of Nagamma, a Malayalam film directed by P. Binu Varghese. She rose to fame after videos of her amber eyes created a stir on social media during the Mahakumbh Mela where she was selling garlands and bangles.
