With Galgotias University banning Professor Neha Singh from the campus until an enquiry is complete, netizens have slammed the varsity for 'scapegoating' the faculty member.
Galgotias has directed Prof Neha to go on leave till the enquiry concludes and issued her a show-cause notice, asking her to explain her actions at the India AI Impact Summit, TV9 quoted Galgotias registrar N.K. Gaur as saying.
The university warned that if Neha's explanation is unsatisfactory, the further action will be taken against her.
What is Neha Singh's educational qualification?
Neha Singh holds an MBA from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya and a BCom degree from University of Allahabad, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She has been the head of the department at the Communication School of Business in Galgotias since November 2023. Earlier, she had a stint at Sharda University as an assistant professor and also worked at Career Launcher as a verbal ability mentor.

The controversy erupted when Neha introduced a robodog, named Orion, to DD News, claiming it was developed by the Centre of Excellence at the Galgotias University. However, it later turned out that the robodog Unitree Go2 was manufactured by Chinese firm Unitree Robotics.
The university then issued an apology, blaming Professor Neha Singh was "ill-informed" and was "not aware of the technical origins of the product". The university stated that she was authorised to speak to the press and gave the statement in her "enthusiasm for being on camera."
Netizens soon slammed the university for throwing their faculty member under the bus. "They’re now exposing a systemic failure in their own internal vetting. They provided her the script, she delivered it and now they’re throwing her under the bus to distance themselves from their own manufactured narrative," said user Manisha Kadyan on X.
Another user said, "I guessed right. She will be the victim of this media trial. Galgotias will get rid of her. Will not apologise for misleading the Nation on rest of the products as well. Rest of the products too were Chinese or Korean. It was not chinese expo. It was Indian AI impact summit. SHAME on the institution."
Yet another user said, "No single individual makes a decision of that magnitude. Such actions originate from leadership. Shifting the entire blame onto one person is neither fair nor honest."
A fourth user said, "They are making it worse , just an apology was enough."
