Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Harshvardhan Sapkal declared that if the BJP wanted to cut off his tongue for exposing a party that, in his opinion, worked for the benefit of Adani, Ambani, and the US—and sought to change the Constitution—they were free to do so, but he would not stop.

He said he would continue to expose the BJP, alleging that MLAs from the saffron party had announced a reward for anyone who cut off his tongue.

The Congress leader further claimed that his tongue should certainly be cut—if it meant protecting Indian farmers from US imports, cancelling what he called an unjust trade deal, ensuring better prices for farm produce, freeing farmers from debt, stopping the BJP from fuelling Hindu-Muslim hatred, and helping India reclaim territory occupied by China.

Sapkal also argued that he had not made any incorrect remarks about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He noted that Shivaji Maharaj’s fame is great, and that there was no dispute about the glory of the Maratha king.

However, he alleged that the BJP had distorted his statements in a bid to inflame Maharashtra and provoke riots.

Urging people to understand the conspiracy behind this move, he pointed out that there was much hidden in the Epstein files.

He alleged that diverting public attention from that was one part of the strategy, while the trade deal with the US, which he said caused great issues for farmers, was the other.

He also noted that there were many other pressing issues in the state as well, for which the BJP government allegedly had no answers, as a result of which it was trying to cover them up through such controversies.
