The deceased were identified as Sumit of Trilokpuri and Rekha Devi of Salarpur.
Sumit had reportedly sent a text to Rekha which stated that he and the Rekha had been dating for the last 15 years and that she had promised to marry him. However, he recently found out that she was going to marry someone else.
"I, Sumit, am dying. Rekha is responsible for this. She promised me she would marry me after 15 years together. Now she's going to marry someone else. That's why I'm committing suicide because Rekha betrayed me... I'm committing suicide," he wrote in the message.
Sumit’s family had filed a missing persons report in Delhi before the car was discovered.
The couple had been missing from their homes since Friday.
