The survivor of the Unnao rape case has now demanded that the CBI file an FR against the outgoing investigating officer of the case. She alleged that the officer was clouded by the former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh, the main convict in the case, and influenced the outcome.
The victim claimed in a six-page complaint that the officer in charge of the case investigated in a manner that benefited the former MLA and the other accused in the case, Aaj Tak reported. She said that the officer made omissions in the investigation and that the facts were manipulated to provide the accused with a better legal position.
The investigating officer allegedly used a fake school document in the charge sheet, according to the complaint.
The charge sheet in the original case had listed her as a student of a government school, which she said she never attended, and gave the wrong date of birth. The charge sheet also stated that she used a mobile phone belonging to a woman named Heera Singh, which the victim denies ever happening.
Several statements that she had never made were also attributed to her, according to the complaint.
She said that the previous complaints she filed against the investigating officer were not taken seriously. He also cited a trial court order where the investigating officer was questioned on the manner in which the statements were recorded. The court had said that the investigation was not conducted in a proper manner and that the statements of the family were undermined.
The court's observations were challenged by the CBI later in the Delhi High Court.
The Delhi High Court recently granted conditional bail to Sengar, suspending his life sentence.
The Unnao rape victim and her mother, along with supporters, staged a protest on Sunday at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Supporters of Sengar and members of the “Purush Aayog also showed up. One man shouted, “BJP Zindabad.” The victim's mother, who had been demanding the death penalty for convicted Kuldeep Sengar, subsequently fainted after that.
