The Delhi police crime branch has busted a transnational smuggling racket with links to Pakistan-linked Inter-Services Intelligence. Four key traffickers were also arrested.

The unit seized arms along with foreign-made pistols which were being smuggled in through the India-Pakistan border and distributed across he country by interstate arms smugglers.

The operations were conducted by a Delhi Crime Branch Unit team led by DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. Police said that the weapons were smuggled into the country from Pakistan using drones in a highly modern cross-border infiltration method.

According to special CP Crime Devesh Srivasta, 10 high-end foreign-made semi-automatic pistols, along with 92 live cartridges, were found.

A Turkiye-made PX-5.7 pistol, a high-end weapon known to be used exclusively by special forces, was also found, creating concern.

A Chinese-made PX-3 pistol was also found, which highlighted that the smuggled weapons were being channelled by the ISI group extended with diverse international origins.
