Breaking his silence for the first time over the rift within the family and his daughters' leaving home, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav asked cadres to focus on the party's performance instead of worrying about the troubles within his family.
Attending the legislative party meeting of RJD, Lalu Prasad Yadav said, "This is an internal family matter and will be resolved within the family. I am there to deal with it." The elected RJD MLAs unanimously chose Tejashwi Yadav as the RJD's legislative party leader, making him the Opposition leader of the new Bihar Assembly.
This is the first time Lalu Prasad has publicly reacted on the rift within the family, which got exposed in public glare after the Bihar election results. The RJD-Congress-led Opposition suffered a severe loss in the recently held Bihar assembly elections.
In an emotional post on social media, Rohini Acharya said she was disowning the family and also leaving RJD. Acharya blamed Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav's aide Rameez for her decision. Rohini charged that she was "humiliated" and "filthy abuses were hurled at her". She added a "slipper was raised to hit her”.
In a series of social media post, Rohini accused that her family, called the kidney she had donated to her father, Lalu Prasad, a few years ago "dirty".

She also said she was accused of taking crores of rupees and a ticket to contest the election by donating her “dirty kidney” to her father.
“I got my father to have my dirty kidney transplanted, and today I am told that the same kidney is a curse," she added.
A day later, Rohini left Bihar for Mumbai. Lalu's three other daughters, Chanda, Ragini, and Hema, also left the family home, alleging favouritism towards outsiders over siblings.
