The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has released its joint election manifesto for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The manifesto, or the Sankalp Patra, was released in a joint press conference by BJP chief JP Nadda and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday, conducted in Patna.
The party made 25 key promises in the manifesto relating to employment, development, education, and health. One key area of focus was on women empowerment, with the party saying that it was aiming to make 1 crore women, Lakhpati Didis. The party also said that it would work on making select women entrepreneurs millionaires, through its ‘Mission Crorepati.’

The party also promised one crore government jobs and employment.
As for infrastructure, the party said that it aimed to build 7 expressways, introduce new metro services in four more cities, and new international airports if it came to power.
The highlights and key promises of the manifesto include:
A skill census, conducted to provide skill-based employment. The aim is to make Bihar a global skilling centre by setting up mega skill centres in every district.
Women under the Chief Minister’s Mahila Rozgar Yojana will be given assistance up to Rs 2 lakh. The alliance also promised to bring 1 more crore women under the Lakhpati Didi SHG. Work will also be done under the 'Mahila Mission Crorepati', which will identify women entrepreneurs and help them become crorepatis.
An assistance of Rs 10 lakh will be given to various occupational groups of the Extremely Backward Classes. Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Samrat Choudhary who addressed the media also announced that they will constitute a high-level committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to “assess the social and economic status of various castes of the Extremely Backward Classes and recommend to the government to take appropriate steps for their empowerment.”
They said that they would introduce 'Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi', which will provide farmers a benefit of Rs 3000 a year, totalling ₹9,000.
The manifesto also promises free ration, 125 units of free electricity, free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh, 50 lakh new pucca houses and social security pension for the poor.
Choudhary also said that 100 MSME parks will be set up under 'Vocal for Local' pledge in the state.
The joint release of the manifesto was made with all senior party leaders in the alliance.
The Mahagathbandhan or the Grand Alliance which is led by the RJD and the Congress, released its manifesto, Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran on Tuesday.
