The Rashtriya Janata Dal-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan released its manifesto for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls on Tuesday. Called the 'Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran' (Tejashwi's resolve), the Opposition alliance has promised to put on hold the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the state and reintroduce the Old Pension Scheme for government servants.
Releasing the manifesto, RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan's chief minister face, Tejashwi Yadav, targeted the ruling alliance and said the National Democratic Alliance is yet to decide on their CM face. Taking a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Yadav said the senior leader has been reduced to a puppet in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party and corrupt officials.
Key promises of the INDIA bloc include 200 units of free power for every household, Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women, and a government job for a member from each family. "A new law guaranteeing employment would be introduced within 20 days of the INDIA bloc forming the government in Bihar," Yadav said.
The manifesto presents 25 major resolutions of the Opposition alliance. Yadav said all contractual workers in the Bihar government departments will be made permanent. "All 'Jeevika Didis' will be made permanent and given a monthly salary of Rs 30,000," the manifesto said.
The manifesto promises IT parks, SEZs, dairy and agro-based industries, an education city and five new expressways in the state. Yadav said the Mahagathbandhan will remove the ban on toddy in the state.

The Oppposition alliance said a transparent system would be introduced for the management of Waqf properties. The management of Buddhist temples located in Bodh Gaya will be handed over to the people of the Buddhist community.
The manifesto says a law passed by the Bihar Assembly to increase the reservation limit in the state will be sent to the Central government for inclusion in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.
