Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay is likely to meet families of Karur stampede victims in Chennai, and party functionaries are reportedly hunting for an appropriate location in the city. The development comes amid speculations about Vijay's visit to Karur.
According to reports, TVK functionaries have reportedly reached out to the kin of the victims of the tragic stampede during actor-politician Vijay's rally in Karur in September. The party functionaries have reportedly sought the families' consent and have inquired whether they would be comfortable travelling to Chennai for the event.
In the aftermath of Karur stampede, the party leader had sought permission from the Madras High Court to visit the city and meet victims. The party had also approached Karur district officials, seeking security arrangements for the meeting.
However, the party has now reportedly dropped the Karur visit plan owing to security issues and lack of a proper venue. Reportedly, the district administration has also informed the party functionaries about security challenges if Vijay decides to visit house of each and every family.
