Bhojpuri actor-politician Pawan Singh, who recently rejoined the NDA, was accused of infidelity and abandonment by his wife in a recent Instagram video.
In the viral video, Jypoti Singh spoke about their strained relationship. She also said she was recently prevented from entering her own home while speaking to NDTV.
According to Jyoti, she had requested a meeting with her husband through a Facebook post, two days before she arrived at his Lucknow residence. She said that Pawan did not respond to her texts and calls. She also said that her number was blocked by her mother-in-law. She also had tried to contact Pawan's brother Hrithik.
Jyothi said that the guard at the house wouldn't let her in when she arrived at around 9 pm.
She said that Pawan had called the cops on her. After she was questioned by the police, she tried to call Hrithik again. He told her that Pawan would arrive in 10 minutes.
Hritik then took her upstairs, where Pawan was seated with a couple of others. When she said that she wanted to talk to him, one of the people in the room said that she couldn't stay there any longer.
Jyothi objected, saying that the divorce hadn't happened yet and the process was still ongoing.
She said that he had food, and then he left. She said that she wasn't able to speak to him. She also said that the police were called for a second time.
On Monday, Pawan Singh took to Instagram to address the earlier claims made by his wife. He accused her of leveraging their relationship for political gain.
“There is one thing I firmly believe in: the public is my God. Would I ever want to hurt the feelings of those who have helped me reach this point? Jyoti Singh ji. Isn’t it true that when you visited my home yesterday morning, I welcomed you with respect and we conversed for about an hour and a half?" he said in the post.
He said that his wife was attempting to pressure him into allowing her to run for office. He said, “Your sole demand is for me to somehow enable you to contest the elections, which is not within my power.”
“There was a misunderstanding in the community that I called the police, but the reality is that the police had been present since the morning to ensure that everything occurred in their sight, preventing any untoward incidents from either your associates or anyone else,” he said.
Shortly afterwards Jyoti made a post to counter his note. Addressing him as ‘Respected Pati Dev Shree Pawan Singh Ji’, she challenged him to submit the evidence against her in front of the public.

Pawan recently met with senior BJP officials, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda, in Delhi and rejoined the party last week. She also said will not contest the elections if you are ready to accept me as your wife forever.” Regardign their sour meeting at his house she said that the entry and exit time at his residence has been recorded in the CCTV camera.
The incident takes place ahead of the coming Bihar legislative Assembly elections scheduled to take place between 6th November and 11th November.
