Tamil Nadu Opposition leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami has seemed to have won over the cadres of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), though not the party leader Vijay. By constantly targeting the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for the tragic deaths in Karur, Palaniswami has seemed to have swayed Vijay's followers to his side.
During a campaign rally of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader in Dharmapuri on Thursday, amongst the crowd stood few TVK cadres, who listened to Palaniswami's attack against Chief Minister M.K. Stalin over the Karur tragedy, waving TVK flags.
Palaniswami squarely blamed Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and state government for the tragic death of 41 persons during actor-politician Vijay's rally in Karur on September 27. Palaniswami charged the tragedy could have been averted had the state government provided adequate security for the event.

Targeting Stalin, Palaniswami said the DMK government was biased against Opposition parties and adequate government isn't being provided for their events. Palaniswami charged that during his recent tour, he has campaigned at over 160 places, but adequate police security was provided only at five or six places. He added it was the government's responsibility to ensure public security.
