The Election Commission of India (ECI) has published the final electoral roll in poll-bound Bihar.

ECI mentioned that the final voter list includes 7.42 crore electors, down from 7.89 crore before the  Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list was carried out.

"Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in #Bihar Successfully Completed. #ECI thanks all the Electors of Bihar for making this exercise a Grand Success. Final Electoral Roll published today; includes nearly 7.42 crore electors," mentioned a social media post by ECI on X (formerly Twitter).

As per the official information shared by ECI, as on June 24, 2025, there were 7.89 crore voters. Of which 65 lakh voters were removed from the draft list. This resulted in a total of 7.24 crore electors in the draft list as on August 1, 2025.

From the draft list, ECI removed a total of 3.66 lakh ineligible electors and added 21.53 lakh eligible electors. Hence, the final electors list submitted by the ECI has 7.42 core voters now.

Electors can check the details on the official website of ECI. If any eligible person wishes to apply for the inclusion of their name in the electoral roll, they can submit an application up to 10 days before last date for filing nominations for the election.

The EC's exercise has drawn sharp protests from the Opposition, which has accused the poll watchdog of working at the behest of the ruling BJP, a charge it has flatly rejected.

According to PTI, the final figure may change marginally after supplementary lists are published during the poll process.
