At least five persons died after an under-construction structure at a private steel plant in Chhattisgarh's Raipur collapsed on Friday. Rescue operation is underway to save workers feared trapped under the collapsed structure.
The incident happened at a steel plant owned by Godavari Ispat Ltd in Siltara. A senior official told PTI, "Soon after being alerted about it, a police team was sent to the spot, and a rescue operation was launched. As per preliminary information, five workers were killed and five others sustained injuries." The official said more workers are feared trapped and efforts are underway to rescue them.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai condoled the deaths and said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the tragic incident. "I have received information about this, and I am deeply saddened by the incident," the chief minister told reporters.
