Two shooters arrested by Uttar Pradesh police earlier today, in connection with firing outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani's residence in Bareilly, have succumbed to bullet wounds sustained in an encounter. The shooters were allegedly part of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Barar gang.
The shooters, identified as Ravindra, a resident of Kahni in Rohtak, and Arun, a resident of Indian Colony, Sonipat, were arrested by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Delhi police's Crime Investigation Unit from Ghaziabad today. The shooters allegedly opened fire at police when they tried to arrest the duo near Tronica City in Ghaziabad. Both Ravindra and Arun suffered serious injuries in the encounter, and they were rushed to the hospital for treatment, police said. Police had also recovered a glock and a zigana pistol, along with a large quantity of cartridges from the spot.
On September 12, unidentified assailants fired multiple rounds outside Patani's Bareilly residence around 3.45am, creating panic in the locality.

Bareilly Kotwali police station registered a case and launched a probe to identify the shooters. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took note of the incident and ordered police to take immediate action in the case.
According to Additional Director General (ADG) Law and Order, Amitabh Yash, the shooters were identified based on CCTV visuals and criminal records from neighbouring states. The senior police officer said both Ravindra and Arun were active members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang. Ravindra was a repeat offender and was involved in several previous cases, police said.
