Mumbai saw extremely heavy rains on Monday. Many parts of the city are reportedly waterlogged due to the intense rain spell and high tide conditions.

Severe waterlogging was reported in several neighbourhoods, including Kings Circle, Sion, Byculla, Mahalaxmi, and Peddar Road. Train tracks at Kurla collected water, slowing down the movement of local trains. Colaba recorded the highest rainfall at 88.2 mm.

According to the IMD, the intense spells are likely to continue in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad. The IMD issued a red alert in the city due to the heavy rainfall, which is causing waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and monorail service halts. For the next 24 hours, cloudy skies with heavy to very heavy rain are predicted at isolated places in the city and suburbs along with 30-40 kmph winds. In Pune, an orange alert was issued.

Traffic has been disrupted in many parts of the city, and Mumbai traffic police announced the closure of Traffic at the Andheri Subway due to accumulated water going up to one and a half feet. The traffic was diverted to Gokhale Bridge.

The traffic police also reported that traffic is moving slowly at many places due to waterlogging at

The central railway reported five to ten minutes of delay, whereas the western railway trains were running as per schedule.

A high tide alert was also issued, and the city saw the first high tide of the day at 6:43 am, and water levels peaked at 3.89 metres. People were cautioned to check levels before visiting the riverside.
