Due to the heavy rainfall in Mumbai, the Western Railway has urged passengers to exercise caution. Commuters are advised to step out only if necessary, take full precautions while leaving home, and, in case of any emergency, contact the helpline number 1512, media reports quoted the Indian Railways as saying.
The heavy rainfall in Mumbai has reportedly affected the speed of suburban local trains on three routes. Waterlogging at several stations on the Central and Harbour lines has caused trains on these routes to run 15 to 20 minutes late, Lok Satta said in a report. This delay has also disrupted the railway schedule, the report added.
