The opposition took out a protest march from Parliament to the Election Commission on Monday, and amid protests, Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra fainted. Moitra, who took part fiercely in the protests, fainted after she was boarded onto a van by the police.
Upping the ante against the Election Commission over 'vote chori' charges and intensive election revision in Bihar, opposition MPs protested in Delhi on Monday. Leaders of the Opposition, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, took part in the protest march and raised slogans against the Election Commission over alleged irregularities in the electoral roll.
Delhi police had set up barricades outside PTI Building on the way to prevent the MPs from marching forward. As the MPs were stopped, many of them sat on the road and raised slogans. However, some women MPs, including saree-clad TMC's Mahua Moitra and Congress' Sanjana Jatav and Jothimani, climbed over the barricades and raised slogans against the Election Commission.

The protesting MPs, including Gandhi, were later whisked away by police in buses lined up along the road and taken to the Parliament Street Police Station. Trinamool Congress's Moitra and Mitali Bag fainted during the protest and were helped by Rahul Gandhi.
Trinamool Congress MP Sagrika Ghose charged that women MPs were manhandled and shoved by police. She also posted a video on X, condemning police action against MPs.
Prominent among those who participated in the march were NCP-SP's Sharad Pawar, T R Baalu (DMK), Sanjay Raut (SS-UBT), Derek O'Brien (TMC), Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav, as well as other MPs from opposition parties like the DMK, the RJD, Left parties. AAP leaders, including Sanjay Singh, also took part in the protest march.
However, Ghose's video has now gone viral and several netizens are trolling Moitra. Netizens, targeting Moitra, alleged her fainting was just an 'act'.
