A Bihar woman police constable got killed and two other police personnel suffered grievous injuries after a speeding car ran over them in Patna during the early hours of Thursday. The police personnel were conducting vehicle checks when they were hit by the speeding vehicle.
According to Bihar police, a sub-inspector, an assistant sub-inspector and a woman constable were hit by the vehicle on Atal Path near the Srikrishna Puri locality in Patna. The deceased constable was identified as Komal, a resident of Nalanda. The incident occurred in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday and the driver managed to escape from the place.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police, Awkash Kumar, said, "Three security personnel posted with Srikrishna Puri police station were checking vehicles on the Atal Path, when the incident happened. While they were checking a car, another speeding car hit it from the rear end, resulting in injuries to the three personnel. The driver of the speeding car managed to flee immediately after the accident," PTI reported.

The injured police personnel were taken to the nearest hospital. Police have nabbed two passengers seated in the car responsible for the accident. Police have also seized two cars involved in the accident.
Bihar police have launched a massive hunt for the driver who managed to escape from the place. According to police, the car was moving at a speed of 90km/h. Though the car also came to a halt after hitting the cops, the driver managed to escape. Police are yet to reveal the whereabouts of the driver.
