Lauding the armed forces for the success of India's anti-terror military operation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that Operation Sindoor is the biggest and most successful anti-terror operation in the history of India.
Modi, attending the Mahila Sashaktikaran Maha Sammelan to mark the 300th birth anniversary of legendary queen Ahilyabai Holkar in Bhopal on Saturday, hailed the role of women defence personnel in Operation Sindoor and said 'Sindoor' has become a symbol of valour now.
Addressing the gathering of over 10,000 women, Modi said, "Operation Sindoor has become a symbol of 'Naari Shakti'. Many women Border Security Force soldiers were handling the front from Jammu to the Gujarat border. They gave a befitting reply to the firing from across the border."
"Be it an operation against Naxalites or cross-border terrorism, today, India's daughters are becoming the shield of India's security," the prime minister said. "Today, the world is seeing the capability of Indian women in national defence," he added. Highlighting initiatives taken by his government to induct women in the armed forces, Modi said the first batch of women cadets have passed out from NDA.

Targeting Pakistan, the prime minister asserted that 140 crore Indians are roaring today that "if you fire bullets at us, we will answer back with canon balls."
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack. As many as 26 persons including a local horse owner were killed in the gruesome terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. India launched precision strikes on May 7, targeting terror bases at nine locations along the Line of Control. While India maintained it doesn't wish to escalate the situation, Pakistan launched retaliatory strikes targeting Indian military assets. After days of heightened military operations, India and Pakistan agreed to stop firing on May 10.
