Terming the three years of his government a ‘golden chapter’, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called for a celebration of its ‘historic decisions’ including the Uniform Civil Code and the Anti-Copying Law.

During a roadshow in Udham Singh Nagar on Monday, Dhami said that his government was working towards making the state the most powerful and the happiest in the country.

He also launched the ‘Fit India, Fit Uttarakhand Run’ and a cycle rally. His bid to connect with the youth included riding a cycle and doing push-ups with young people on Sunday.

While some Muslims in the state have reported feeling discriminated against, Dhami said that some people, through their careless speech, propagate regionalism or casteism. He said that anyone talking about this in Uttarakhand was not only dishonouring the sacrifices of those who fought for the formation of the state; but also acting against their motherland. He appealed that unity and brotherhood be maintained at all times while speaking about how his government had curtailed land jihad and 'thook' (spit) jihad.

He touched on the government’s priorities in the last three years: the future of the youth, women’s empowerment, and the prosperity of farmers. The next two years, he said, would be devoted to creating new employment opportunities, further enhancing tourism, implementing special schemes for women and youth, and strengthening of infrastructure. The guiding lights would be self-reliance, prosperity, and sustainable development,

The three-year mark is being celebrated in the state through road shows, public gatherings, and multi-purpose camps. The last is to provide access to public services and to send out a message that serving the people would always remain the government’s priority.

Multi-purpose camps are being organised in all districts of Uttarakhand to provide health check-ups, pension schemes, self-employment assistance, educational benefits, and benefits of other welfare programs.
