The parents of Muskaan Rastogi, the woman arrested for allegedly murdering her husband Saurabh Rajput with her lover's help, threw their weight behind the family of their late son-in-law and said she should be hanged till death.
Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput was allegedly murdered and his body was chopped into pieces by the two accused on March 4. The parents of Muskaan Rastogi, 27, reportedly stressed that there was no excuse for what she did and vouched to back Saurabh's family in their fight for justice. Saurabh always supported their daughter and loved her blindly, the accused's parents told NDTV at their Meerut residence.
The couple reportedly told the news channel that Muskaan confessed to having killed her husband on Tuesday after she returned from a vacation with the co-accused Sahil (25). They wasted no time and quickly escorted her to the police station, the report said.
The Rastogis said that Saurabh was like a son to them and the root cause of all problems in their family was Muskaan. Saurabh risked everything and left behind his parents and assets worth crores to be with their daughter. Still, she got him killed and she should get the capital punishment for it, they reportedly said. He was our son too," she said.
Saurabh Rajput murder case: The story so far
Saurabh Rajput (29) from Brahmpuri's Indra Nagar Phase 2, went missing on March 4 and an investigation was launched after his family filed a complaint. They decided to go to the Meerut Police as he was unavailable on the phone.
The police detained Muskan and her lover Sahil, who confessed to having murdered the victim. After stabbing him to death on March 4, they chopped up his body, put the remains inside a drum and sealed it with cement.
Muskan and Sahil went on a vacation to a hill station after the crime and it was after they returned from this trip that the woman confessed to her actions to her parents.
