Various organisations are planning protests in Mysuru on Monday in connection with the recent Udayagiri police station incident, prompting police to impose prohibitory orders in the city.
The order was issued by City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar. Restrictions have been imposed on meetings, conventions, rallies, and protests in the city.
If any kind of event related to the incident takes place, public peace, communal harmony, and public interest will be affected and law and order will deteriorate, Latkar said in her order.
On February 10, a group of people belonging to a minority community attacked the Udayagiri police station after a Kalyannagar resident put up a social media post with provocative communal statements against the religious group.

The police resorted to lathi-charge and fired tear gas to quell the rioting mob.
To protest against the police station incident, the Rashtra Suraksha Janandolana Samiti Mysuru has announced organising 'Mysuru Chalo' awareness rally on Monday from JSS Vidyapeeth Gunhouse to Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple.
BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra, the Leader of Opposition BJP in the Karnataka Assembly R. Ashoka and several top BJP leaders in the state are expected to participate in the event.
In a counter-protest, the Dalit Mahasabha and Mysuru District Youth Congress Committee have also organised a similar event. They accused the BJP of trying to portray the Muslim community as "villains" in relation to the incident.
