Actor Saif Ali Khan, who was undergoing treatment for grievous injuries at Lilavati Hospital was discharged on Tuesday. The actor was admitted to the hospital on January 16 after an intruder attacked him during an alleged burglary attempt.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai police recreated the crime scene during the early hours of Tuesday. Police took accused Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir to Khan’s residence in Bandra and places close to it, and mapped how the accused entered and exited the place. Police also took him to the Bandra railway station, from where he had taken a train to Dadar, and to a place outside a garden where he had slept after the attack, PTI reported.
Khan, who resides on the 12th floor of the high-security building was attacked by the accused during the early hours of January 16 during an alleged burglary attempt at the actor’s house. Khan was stabbed six times and he suffered deep injuries in his neck, left hand and near his spine in the back. Doctors who treated the actor at the hospital said plastic surgery was done to treat the actor’s injuries in the neck and left hand. They added a 2.5-inch long broken knife was removed from the wound near his spine.

Police nabbed the accused close to 50 hours after the incident from Thane and the Bandra court granted them five-day custody of the accused. Police suspect that there is international conspiracy behind the crime as the accused hails from Bangladesh. Forensic experts visited Khan's residence on Monday and collected fingerprints. According to police, several fingerprint samples of the accused was collected from the actor's house.
According to police, Fakir entered the country by crossing the Dawki river and used the identity of a West Bengal resident to purchase SIM card before moving to Mumbai.
