The Bharatiya Janata Party appointed in-charges for upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

According to a release, the party’s National President J.P. Nadda has appointed union ministers Bhupender Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnaw as state election in-charge and co-incharge respectivelyfor Maharashtra; Dharmendra Pradhan and Biplab Kumar Dev for Haryana, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief MinisterHimanta Biswa Sarma asin-charges for Jharkhand; and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy asin-charge for Jammu & Kashmir.

While assembly polls in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand are due later this year, the Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission to hold the elections in Jammu and Kashmir by September.
