Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is hosting a tea party along with top leaders at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence for prospective ministers. Key alliance leaders including JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy, LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan have reached the PM’s residence.
According to reports, Bharatiya Janata Party President J.P. Nadda made phone calls to prospective ministers for the party. As per reports, veteran BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Amit Shah and Hardeep Singh Puri have reached the PM’s residence for the meeting. Reportedly, outgoing External Affairs Minster S. Jaishankar and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are expected to continue in their roles in Modi 3.0 government and they too have reached Lok Kalyan Marg.
The list of ministers will be handed over only a few hours ahead of the oath ceremony in the evening, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. However, as many as 30 ministers are expected to take oath today along with PM-designate Narendra Modi.
Among alliance partners, Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy and LJP (Ram Vilas)leader Chirag Paswan have reached for the meeting.
Key alliance partner, Telugu Desam Party, has confirmed it has got two ministerial berths. TDP leader Jayadev Galla tweeted congratulating party MPs Ram Mohan Naidu and Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani on being chosen as ministers. Naidu, a three-time Lok Sabha MP is expected to be sworn in as a cabinet minister and first-time MP Pemmasani from Guntur is expected to become Minister of State.
Speculations are rife that the Tamil Nadu BJP President would be made a MoS in the new government. Actor Suresh Gopi, the sole BJP MP from Kerala has also been invited for the tea party and is likely to be made a MoS.
