Two people were killed when an SUV belonging to the convoy of BJP candidate from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat and son of BJP MP and former Wrestling Federation Of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Karan Bhushan Singh, ran over a bike in Uttar Pradesh's Goda district. One of the deceased was 17 years old.

Both of the victims reportedly died on the spot. A third person, who sustained injuries during the accident, has been hospitalised.

According to media reports, visuals from the site of the accident showed that the SUV, a Toyota Fortuner, had 'police escort' written on the rear windscreen.

NDTV reported that the police seized the SUV and arrested the driver. However, there is no confirmation if Karan Bhushan Singh was travelling with the cavalcade when the accident took place.

"Rehan and Shehzad, the two were on the bike when they met an accident. Police took them to hospital where both were declared dead. Bodies are sent for the postmortem. A case has been registered under the appropriate sections. Fortuner has been taken into custody. The driver of the Fortuner is also arrested," news agency ANI quoted Additional SP Radhe Shyam Rai as saying.

Kaiserganj constituency in Uttar Pradesh is currently represented by Brij Bhushan. The BJP dropped him for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls in the wake of the sexual harassment allegations levelled against him by several women wrestlers and fielded his son Karan Bhushan Singh.
